Traveling to Greece with kids is full of adventures. There are so many things to do in Greece with kids making it a top European travel destination! You can explore countless ancient Greek ruins including the famed Acropolis in Athens. You can relax on pink, red or black sand beaches on the beautiful Greek islands. There is something for children of all ages to enjoy in this ancient city.

If you are traveling with a baby or toddler, it is best to travel with a light weight umbrella stroller and a baby knapsack for when you are exploring the sites. Diapers and baby food are readily available, however on the Greek islands they can be quite expensive so stock up before you head over there! Greeks love babies and children and they will be fussed over wherever you go!

The best time to travel here is from April to October when the weather is warm (and quite hot in July & August). If you want to visit the Greek Islands then your best bet is to travel during this period as you will have a lot more options for transportation to reach them.

Visiting Athens with Kids

Parthenon in Athens

A visit to the bustling city of Athens is a great way to explore the ancient ruins. The famous Acropolis and Parthenon are a must see attraction. An excellent way to introduce your kids to the fascinating history is to start with a visit to the New Acropolis Museum where they have a children's treasure hunt and a live view of the excavations. Athens also has lovely gardens, a zoo and a lake with healing properties nearby. Check out these cultural things to do in here.

Finding a decent place to stay with your kids can be a challenge. Many hotels cater only to couples. We will show you some great family hotels in Athens for all budgets. Choose from cheap central hotels, serviced holiday apartments or luxury accommodations with lots of pampering.

The Greek Islands with Kids

A visit to one of the Greek Islands with your kids is a must. With top notch beaches, quaint villages and incredible blue waters, the islands are a great spot to relax with your family.

My family loved the Greek Islands - especially Crete, Corfu and Naxos! This was one of the most relaxing family holidays we have had - lazy days at the beach, water games and indulging in the yummy food!

Crete Family Holidays

If you are looking for beautiful beaches then choose Crete. It is the largest of the islands and home to some of the best beaches in Greece. Rent a car and explore the cute villages and seaside towns!

Toddlers and babies will love splashing in the shallow crystal clear waters, children will love a glass bottom boat ride and teens will be thrilled with a horseback ride through the olive groves.

There are many great options for accommodations for families on the island of Crete. Moderately priced family hotels, serviced apartments, family resorts with wonderful kid's clubs or luxury accommodations are all available.

Visiting Santorini with Kids

Children will enjoy the red sand beach, hiking up the active volcano and swimming in the hot springs. Teenagers can watch movies in the open air theater at night which is always a hit! Don't miss out on our interesting things to do!

Stay in one of the beautiful white and blue villas with incredible views or stay in a seaside resort. Greece with kids is a great choice and will not disappoint!
