Are you ready to take your kids to the Sydney Aquarium?

Remember being small and standing next to the large glass wall holding back the blue water on the other side? A massive creature swims by and casts its shadow over you.

How can you forget that moment? Within the aquarium grounds there are hundreds of mammals, birds and sea creatures waiting to be discovered by you and your young ones.

From the awesome shark tanks to the stunning beauty of the coral reef, the aquarium captures what life is like under the sea.

Creating memories and appreciation for the life teeming in our oceans is the goal of the Aquarium. Let us help you plan your journey through this exciting and wondrous place.

Tickets and Admission

Tickets can be purchased at the door. That being said, the best way (and cheapest) is to purchase your aquarium passes online. The family pack deal is only $60 – 45% less than regular price.

Day, annual and group passes are also available online.

The doors open at 9:00am and closing is at 8:00pm. The aquarium is open 365 days a year. Check holiday schedules as doors close earlier on Christmas and NYE.

Must See Attractions

To be honest, there is not much that you will want to miss here. The Sydney Aquarium is full of dazzling sights and displays.

Young children to older teens alike, will find their visit informative and stimulating. The aquarium recommends giving yourself at least 90 minutes to view what is on the premises. There are a few must-see attractions, however, that you will not want to miss.

The Great Barrier Reef: This remarkable oceanarium is full of colorful corals, fish and other spectacular creatures. The very best way to view this incredible reef is by glass bottom boat. A tour of the reef this way allows you and your kids to have a close and clear view of the life beneath.

Daily Feeds: Can't get enough of the shark tank? Well then, you may want to stick around for the shark feed at 11. Check beforehand to be sure the time hasn't been changed.

This is a crowd favorite and if you love sharks, you don't want to miss this! Prefer something a bit tamer, cuter? The penguin feed is daily at 3pm. Younger children as well as adults can't resist their dapper charm!

We visited and spent a few hours exploring the large center! There is so much to do here-so make sure you check out the timings of the talks etc as these are really worthwhile!

We went to the shark talk and both my daughters were enthralled by the discussion taking place. Shark babies are known to eat each other in the womb-so only the strongest survive- that was the fact that they are still talking about!!

Food and Refreshments

Like any family outing, there has to be a time to snack or eat. To accommodate this need, the Sydney Aquarium has a snack bar conveniently located in route through the aquarium.

If you are looking for something more substantial for your family, food outlets are in the main foyer.

Few things inspire as much awe as the sea and the secrets beneath. Thanks to the meticulous attention to detail, the Sydney Aquarium is able to capture our hearts, imaginations and quench our thirst for knowledge about ocean life.

A day spent here with your children will be remembered for years to come. Fun and adventurous, a day at the aquarium never disappoints!

The Sydney Aquarium is one of the best in the world! A must do attraction in Sydney! From the Weedy Sea Dragons to the Little Penguins there is lots to explore and learn about.

The aquarium is located in Darling Harbour and is a lovely area to stroll around. Madam Tussauds and the Sydney Wildlife Park are right next door!
