There are lots of great Puerto Plata resorts that cater to families. The north coast of the Dominican Republic is a perfect choice for a family friendly holiday in the sun. Most resorts are all-inclusive and include your meals, drinks and entertainment.

Your whole family will enjoy hanging out on the beach or at the pool! Many resorts offer kid's clubs with organized activities as well. My kids wanted to go almost everyday they were having so much fun!   Most of the resorts are a bit cheaper than in Punta Cana. The beaches aren`t quite as nice but you will also find more excursions here and at a cheaper rate!

These are located in Sosua about 25 minutes away from Puerto Plata. These are budget resorts and great for families. They are located right in town so you have access to lots of shops and tour operators (tours are much cheaper booked outside the resort). You are in walking distance to the markets and main Sosua beach. The chicken and rice meals are delicious at the beach! You can go snorkeling or go on banana boat rides from this beach too! We stayed here-and although it is a bit rough around the edges-we had a wonderful cheap holiday here!

Kids will Love:

• Supervised kid's club for ages 4-12 and lots of organized activities.
• Several pools and kids' pools.
• Evening entertainment for the whole family starting with an interactive kids show
