Where To Stay In Tokyo Japan With Kids

Shinjuku at night - Tokyo with kids Finding Tokyo family hotels can be a challenge. We have done the research for you and found the best places to stay in Tokyo with kids.

There are several types of family friendly accommodations. Hotels may offer western style bedding or Japanese style. With Japanese style rooms your bed will be a futon on the tatami mats. Be sure everyone removes their shoes! Staying in these types of rooms is great fun for the kids and the beds are very comfortable.

Ryokans are another option for Tokyo family accommodations, however prices are quite high and you are usually charged per person. These traditional Japanese style guesthouses offer a unique experience. These inns offer tatami mats and futon bedding. There is usually a shared washroom and communal bath (separated by gender) that is often fed from a hot spring. Usually a traditional Japanese breakfast and dinner is offered as well.

Be sure to sample lots of delicious Japanese food for kids. There is no better place to eat sushi then in Japan of course-or if your kids don't like fish they may enjoy yakisoba noodles, chicken yakitori or vegetable tempura.
