Galway City is often populated by arriving visitors owing to the incredible night life, the rich culture, and history, as well as the people. Galway has more festivals than most other parts of the country, however, when traveling with family, you need to look for exciting things to do in Galway with kids. Aside from exploring the city center, visitors are encouraged to also explore the areas situated outside Galway as they tend to offer more value for your money and a rich authentic Irish experience.

Connemara

These are Ireland's most preserved mountains. It features different lakes and the stunning Kylemore Abbey. This tour will give you a sense of what life looks like on the West Coast of the Emerald Isle. Some of the attractions that you will find along the way include Leenane Village, Kylemore Abbey, Killary Fjord, A Spidéal and Wild Atlantic Coastal Drive. 

Cliff of Moher

This is a one day guided tour which starts from Galway and it features tours to Doolin, Dunguaire Castle, Aillwee Cave, Cliffs of Moher and Wild Atlantic Way Coastal Drive. Several stops are made along the way, which will allow you to soak up the beauty.

If you would prefer to head to the cliffs directly, you can opt for the express service, which will transport and deliver you faster. This express service starts from Galway Coach Station every weekend all year round.


Sightseeing the city

This tour allows you to see and experience the important sights of the city. Some of the stops featured in the tour include Eyre Square, Galway City Museum, NUIG, Salthill, Spanish Arch and Shop Street. If you are experiencing Galway with the kids, a sightseeing tour of the city is a must.

Inis Mor, Aran Islands

Of all the three islands available, Inis Mor is the largest one. It is characterized by stone monuments, patches of unused lands, farmland, and the Dún Aonghasa. Some of the important features of the tour include bus and ferry transfer and an overnight stay on the island if the thought tickles your fancy. 


Inis Meain, Aran Islands

If you are interested in learning a bit of the Irish language, a stopover at Inis Meain will do you good.  This area offers views of the rugged coastline, which is absolutely breathtaking. 


Inis Oirr, Aran Islands

Nothing screams recreation like a trip to Inis Oírr. This is the smallest of the Aran Islands and is endowed with beautiful sandy beaches, limestone landscapes, and a shipwreck. The small island also has 3 pubs that can offer much-needed entertainment.
