Ziplining in Las Vegas

Flightlinez Bootleg Canyon

ziplining in las vegas

Ziplining at Bootleg Canyon was one of the best experiences of our Vegas family trip!  We have ziplined a few times before but we all agreed this was our favourite.

Flightlinez uses equipment where you are actually sitting in a seat and you can grab on to the sides like a swing-very comfortable!

We made the half hour trek out to Boulder City to the Flightlinez office in our rental car. Flightlinez does offer a shuttle service from the Strip in Las Vegas if you don`t have a car or prefer not to drive.  The Hoover Dam is just down the road so you can combine it with a visit there if you drive yourself (Some how my kids convinced me to get In n Out Burger, back in Vegas, instead of visiting the Hoover Dam-still regretting that one!).

We arrived at the offices and were greeted warmly by the staff. We had an excellent safety briefing and were suited up with our equipment. The guides are very professional but also hilarious and really make the experience fun. We had a short ride up the canyon in the Flightlinez van while the guides entertained us with bad jokes that the kids loved!

We had a short hike (10 minutes) up to the first platform-the views are spectacular up there! You can see Vegas, Boulder City and Lake Mead. There are also mountain bike paths carved into the mountains-so you might catch a glimpse of them riding below you!  The guides give great commentary on the area and its history all
throughout the experience.  It was a bit chilly when we went (December) so we didn`t make use of the water bottles provided- but I am sure that would be handy in the heat!

There are 4 runs altogether. They are very long runs-the longest we have ever done at up to half a mile long! Each one is different-some have big drops, others are long and steady. There are 4 parallel lines so you can zipline together or race each other to the bottom!  We loved ziplining here-it was so nice to escape the bright lights and madness of Las Vegas and experience the real natural beauty of Nevada.  We absolutely loved this-it is wonderful for families!
