Rome, Italy
We got to Rome at night and we went to our hotel. In the morning we took the subway to the Colosseum . We took a tour and I learned that the gladiators would fight tigers, lions and sometimes elephants there. That was their entertainment. It was cool to see a wonder of the world. We walked around and saw a statue of King Tut. Later we realized it was a real person! He stood so still.
The next day we went to the town square and watched performers and artists. I really liked watching them. We went and threw a coin in the Trevi fountain for good luck. We also went to the Spanish steps and I wanted to ride in a horse and carriage but it was too expensive. We went out for dinner and I had lasagne-it was so good.
The next day we went to the Vatican. There was a huge lineup to get in and it was hot. We walked around and we saw Michael Angelos painting on the ceiling. I liked that it was a different country. We went to a big park and we rented electric bicycles-I wish I had one of those at home. We had gelato which tasted good.
Rome was fun because I got to see the Colosseum and it is my goal to see all the wonders of the world.
