Many schools have an admission process which includes an interview with the child. Education is a high priority for parents in HK. The school year runs from late August to late June.

The fees can be quite high, however English Schools Foundation (ESF) schools are partially funded by the government for native Englsih speakers and are more reasonably priced. Most schools require the kids to wear a school uniform. There are excellent programs for children starting at age 3. You will find lots of extra curricular activities available for children such as swimming and dance. In general Hong Kong International Schools are of high quality.
