Citizens of most countries will require a visa to enter Cambodia. Check the Cambodian government website for current requirements. Children under 12 require a visa however it is free. You may be able to obtain a visa on arrival (need 2 spare pages on passport, 2 passport photos(bring with you) and 4 months left before passport expires). There is also a departure tax when you leave the country. $25 Adult, $13 for children under 12.
The heat is quite intense in Cambodia. Be sure to pack sunscreen and sun hats and carry bottled water with you when you visit the sites. Our strategy was to book a hotel with a pool. We visited the sites in the morning and then spent a few hours cooling off in the pool. We headed back out in the late afternoon again.
Mosquitoes can be a problem in Cambodia. Malaria and Dengue fever are present. Consult your doctor for advice. When we traveled to Cambodia we used a strong DEET cream to protect ourselves.
Siem Reap is one of the best places to visit in Cambodia with kids. It is rich in history and home to the famous Angkor Wat temple. Your children will have a great time exploring the fascinating ruins including one in the jungle.
There are lots of great things to do in Siem Reap with children. You can visit the floating village, ride an elephant or take a pottery class together.

There are lots of interesting Phnom Penh Attractions that you can visit with the kids. A trip to the Royal Palace is a must do as well as a visit to Phnom Tamao Zoo. A cooking class is a great way to spend the afternoon together learning about the delicious local cuisine.
